I am sorry that the people around you have the treat you in a bad way. The good news is that it is not pasted on if you have children. I happens for a number of reasons. It can be fixed in some cases. In other as with a friend I grew up with he a had a brain problem causing it. Check with a doctor and maybe they can guild you to the right place for help.

As for the others the give you a bad time. Just because you may talk a little different you still think fast so you are a better person than them.

I was called goofy most of my life and I had a choice I could believe them or believe in myself and do very thing I could to make my life a wonderful one. I am and older dude and I did OK. so far.

I can't say I am an expert about it. I am guessing that a therapy would be to identify any special words it happens on or words in a special order in your sentences. I understand it is a muscular repetition on a consonant. Perhaps stutter the consonant slower to grasp any underlying information in your consciousness. Feel it coming and slow down. I know, I ain't perfect either.

I am sympathetic because, believe it or not, I am dyslexic on the keyboard (my left and right hands do each other jobs and they don't receive everything in my mind. it's like my mind is a teacher continually correcting my students about the errors over and over and over again, they never learn).

I'm pretty sure you can go to a speech pathologist. It's just a form of therapy that retrains you to talk properly. It could work...or it could be due to dental problems. It's worth looking into.

In the mean time, don't let those people get to you. I know it's easier said than done, but what do they really matter? :)
