Air and Water are blue and essential to life.
Probably not a concious reason for most people but it's my guess.

Because there are only a few main colors to choose from, and since there are billions of people in the world, it's going to seem like a lot of people like the same color.

I heard somewhere that people are attracted to blue colored things because it produces a warn feeling in the mind.

Because its jest my favorite, I like it since I was young. It is also a important color, becuase without blue, the sky would look so good.
