I assume you're not asking how to punch it into your calculator. By hand, you choose a point that you know is on the graph. For example, when x=0 you will have a y-value (since f(x) goes on the y-axis) of 1.
So you know the point (0,1) is on your graph. Then you plug in another x-value. Since when x=1, the problem becomes (-2)(1)+1, which equals (-1). So another point on the graph is (1,-1). Now you have two points and can make a line, which will be straight since it's a linear equation.
Another way to think of it is that once you have that first point, you can find every additional point (going by whole numbers on the x-axis) will be 1 right and 2 down, or 1 left and 2 up.

This is a straight line. I'm assuming you know how to plot a point on a 2d (cartesian) graph. Since it is a straight line you just need to find two points on the line and then use a straightedge to draw the line that contains both of them.
Be using x=0 and x=1 you'll just need to plot the point (0,-1) because f(0) = -1 and the point (1, -3) because f(1) = -3
Hope this helps.

You remind me of a lot of people in class. They thought finding an intersection point is Calculus. You must be one of my classmates except with some unfamiliar name.
You start with the y-axis. Go to (0,1). Then from there, you move 1 to right and 2 down or 1 to the left and 2 up Connect the dots and you get your line.

start at the point (0,0) and move up 1 unit a make a dot
next, go left to units and up 1 unit and make a d ot
finally, start at (0,0) and go down 2 units and over to the right 1 unit and make another dot and then draw a line between all the points to get the line of your graph

f(x) = y = (- 2) x + 1
Two points on this straight line graph are:-
( 0 ,1 ) and ( 4, - 7 )
Draw line thro` these two points.

are you kidding us? That's stuff you do in the 8th grade. the equation is y= -2x + 1 which is in the y=mx+b format. This should be enough for you unless you have a pre-pre-pre calculus problem.

slope would be -2
y intercept would be 1
put a dot at (0,1)
go 2 units up, two units to the left
put a dot on that... which would be (-1,3)
connect the dots and it will be a line ! =]
