AHWWW ! Don't cry! You obviously have the idea that Mr. Bush is some sort of Supreme Leader. Actually ,the 'smart' people you know are correct. I know it's hard when everything you know is wrong. It can be very confusing and scary. It's a form of shock as well as "Stockholm Syndrome". That's when a prisoner or victim identifies,or sympathizes with the perpetrator. You can 'de-program' yourself by not watching cable news. Talk to your 'smart' friends, they'll understand what you are going through. I had to do the same thing when JFK was killed. I always believed that there was MORE to the story! I had to give up on believeing in what was said on the news way back then! I've learned SO MUCH since! TRY IT !

Hey Spock, since you're so quick to dismiss any responsibility of Bush's failure of actions to the post 9/11 deal why not answer this?
Up to September 6th (which is documented). Condoleeza Rice and Dick Cheney both were getting memos from the CIA and FBI warning of an imminent threat by those connected with Bin Laden to attack the U.S. on it's own shores. Cheney's documented replies up to that point where that " he wasn't bothered by any of this nonsense". An almost verbatim copy of what Donald Rumsfeld also replied with.
6 memos were hand delivered to the Vice President and the Secretary of State but were virtually ignored, this is documented in the 9/11 investigation which was a bi-partisan finding.
For the life of me, I couldn't stand by anyone who (for lack of a better term) allowed this to happen.
Yet Spock who thinks he is so intelligent on here, believes that Good Old George and DICK had not even a shred of any ideas that Bin Laden's attacks were about to happen. It's uncanny how the Repukes on here are so bent on trying to rewrite the facts to suit there lies.

i will say what they are doing is out of frustration. I graduated at the top of my class in college and at the top of my class at Platoon Leaders School Quantico, VA and i do not believe that Bush is an awful Pres. Do i believe he has made mistakes sure i do he has made more than a few. THATS HUMAN. If all the "smart people" you know are teachers/proffesors i get where you are coming from. College Campus' is a breeding ground for liberal thinking. It is almost ridiculous the liberal ideaology that is crammed down your throat. At least Bush isnt a flip flopper on important issues such as this war, immigratioin, health care.

I've noticed an equal number of thinly-veiled insults and baiting questions from both sides, so I have to question your impartiality.

well, you could look for an honest newspaper with even handed treatment of the news. Pretty tough to find one though.
you could ignore all TV news except Fox.
or you could stop listening to opinions ["Mr. Bush is an awful President" -- this is an opinion, not a fact], search out the facts, and form your own opinions.
***
Let's see:
recession started in the 4th quarter of 2000 acording to the economists -- Bill Clinton was President.
9/11 happened 8 months after President Bush took office -- 8 months is far too short a time to remake the US intelligence agencies or military services, so he was operating with the capabilities that Bill Clinton left him.
President Bush did get tax reductions passed which booted the economy into forward gear -- too bad the Democrats in the Senate wanted to filibuster them to death unless they were temporary [expire in 2010 -- effectively, 2010 be a huge tax increase and all the Democrats have to do is sit back and watch it happen.]
President Bush stopped talking and sleeping after Saddam Hussein had ignored 17 UN resolutions -- most of those on Bill Clinton's watch. You may have forgotten that after the Kuwait War, the UN resolutions and Hussein's acceptance of the is what saved his tail at the time.
and on and on

Mean spirited, evil, vile and just plain stupid whiners come crawling out with their putrid cesspool mentality and talk BS, unlike me, i never use derogatory comments about anyone abut anything. They are like a bunch of Purana's hoping to bring you down to their level of stupidity by biting, nawing and chewing anyone who is not as narrow minded as they are. Last of all, you need to meet a new class of smart people if all of them think that Bush is awful. I would agree that maybe 50% think he is awful...not 100%. You lost all credability on that one.
