Very cold environments will kill batteries.

It was probaly to cold for your batter to handle. Try warming it up and charging it or if that didn't work your battery is dead compleatly and you need to get a replaced battery.

Extreme cold will kill a battery. Even car batteries sometimes.

It happens to my iPod all the time. So I try not to leave it in my car anymore when it's cold.

u probably left in on while it was in the car or didnt turn it off properly
