How many pets is too many?

Question

We went to my brother's house last night for our family's Christmas party. My brother, his wife, their daughter, her boyfriend, the step son, and his wife, living in the SAME house, have probably over 20 animals total. Probably 7 dogs and the rest are cats. Is this excessive?

P.S. My sister-in-law bought another dog for her daughter----a $1,000.00 dog. is THIS excessive?

they are all well-cared for, but it's the costs of the vet visits that concerns me. It's the way my sister-in-law thinks that her husband's money is hers and that he can't use it himself.

WAY excessive.

I'd say maybe 3-5 pets is a LOT. I had 4 pets once and it was pretty time-consuming. I think 2 is a good amount. If you have too many then you can't spend enough time with all of them, and they end up being more of a burden than companions.

Yes it is but the thing i worry about is the health of the animals if they are okay to each his own.

wow, that is a really busy house. i think they have too many pets. but if thats what they want then thats cool i guess :]
