All of the above are correct. When you are evaluating the reliability of information obtained on the web, it's your first clue. A .com is commercial, they are there to sell something. That is neither good or bad. If you walk into a Radio Shack you know you walked into a store. You might find out all sorts of useful information and leave without buying anything, but it's a commercial venture and you knew that when you walked in the door.
The next things you should check are authorship (someone taking responsibility, preferably with a physical address) and timeliness. Make sure the site is current. Old tax information or medical information can be more dangerous than helpful.

This is the "domain" of the address. The most common are commercial = .com, network = .net, US government = .gov, non-profit organization = .org, educational = .edu and there are specific domains for other countries, such .uk = United Kingdom or Britain. .us is actually some other country, I'd have to look it up.

I have been in Angels Stadium, Dodger Stadium, Yankee Stadium, Petco Park and whatever the name is of that sauna in Miami in Red Sox gear. Everyone treats you with respect/ignores you, except the Yankee fans. There is just too much history there. It makes it fun. As for your experience, I could never understand why a Yankee fan would show up at Fenway for a Red Sox--Tigers game in Yankee gear. Wear Tiger gear for Heaven's sake. Of course you are going to be the most loathed person in the park. Actually wearing a Yankee hat in the City of Boston is not the brightest of moves as a general matter.
