I am thinking about buying a Green Anole to keep as a pet, and I need to learn more about feeder crickets. Do you have to store them in a seperate tank or can you just put a bunch in with your anole?
let me know if you can find any websites to help please

They sell "Cricket Keepers" at most chain pet stores. They also have food/water for crickets that is infused with nutrients. The food is a powder. The water comes in jelly like cubes. They also sell a jelly cube that is both food and water.

DO NOT PUT EXCESS CRICKETS IN WITH THE ANOLE.
We had someone put like 20 crickets in a terrarium, and they crickets literally ate one of our reptiles.

Goodluck!

Keep them in a Rubbermaid container with paper towel on the bottom. Egg crate or cardboard rolls to hide in. Feed a good POWDERED gutload food--the gel kind are useless. Keep a small shallow lid of water available. Tip the rubbermaid container to wipe down the bottom and replace the paper towel and cardboard once a week. Keep them clean and they won't smell. They can't climb the sides of the container, so I don't even use a lid or screen top.

I keep my crickets in a large "cricket keeper" that I bought at a petstore. They don't last quite as long as if in a 10 gallon tank set up or if I was breeding my own, but I have a severe phobia of crickets (why- I don't know-- but I love my reptiles that eat them) and the cricket keeper is great b/c I never have to touch them.

If you don't mind the noise, you might find yourself wanting to raise crickets yourself, they are easy and it saves a ton of money.

A ten gallon aquarium with a screen top and a heat pad under one end will do the trick. use paper towels on the bottom and have a dish of damp soil, coco fiber, or sand for them to lay eggs in. feed them a variety of fruits, veggies and grains, and a little meat once in a while (or used prepared cricket diet),

and put the tubes from paper towels and toilet paper in there for them to hide in.

after about 6 weeks you should have a good supply of crickets of all sizes.

I keep mine in a ten gallon tank, with a screen lid, actually 2 separate tanks 1 for large and 1 for small, with pieces of egg carton in there for them to hide in and they will eat fresh cut potatoes also as well as the all in one cube`

put it in a cage with paper towel and hiding places. Feed it veges and change their cage every week. Do not put them all with your anole because they will bite him. Last, remember your anole needs a uvb and uv lamp. Very important...
