When I was backing out of my parking space the bottom of my car got caught on the cement divider and scraped the bottom of my car. now i have a plastic piece hanging from the front bottom of my car. Anyone know what it is and how much it would cost to get it fixed? or can i just rip it off. thanks

Most likely this is under the front of the vehicle under the bumper just before the oil pan. This is a splash shield that prevents water from getting up into the fan/radiator area. This is not an essential part of the car but normally it is just held in by plastic clips which are cheap and easy to replace. This can be brought to practically any shop and they should be able to button it up for you in less than 5 mins.

I do body work professionally and someone brought over a similar Sable. The ultra thin steel rocker panel had rusted to the point where the plastic rocker cover had nothing to fasten to.As I recall [this was quite a while ago] I cleaned and dried everything best as possible then partially filled the backside with Great Stuff expanding spray foam. That stuff sticks very well and fused what was left of the rocker to the plastic cladding.

Need more info. What kind of car? I had a panel hanging on my 84 firebird and it overheated, because it was a air deflector because those kind of cars did not have grills to allow air flow.

Bring it to a garage and have them do an oil change and
while it's up on the lifter someone could check on it for
you and it might not cost anything extra.

It's just a cover, you can rip it off or get some zip ties and tie it up again.
