There is no guarantee that the answer provided to you on this site is, in fact, the correct answer.

You take a chance in trusting the answer and just because it is the best one does not mean it is the right one.

No one is responsible for your answers but you, since you chose them and wrote them down on your paper.

There is no guarantee that the answer chosen as the best answer on this site is actually correct. It may be wrong for so many reasons like:
- Ignorance of the asker;
- Lack of knowledge of the Voter for the best answer.
- Over-confidence of the Asker.
Therefore, The asker may be given weightage of 40% only for selecting the best answer and remaining 60% may be with an expert panel on the subject. Then only one can be sure that the answer chosen as the best answer is correct also.

(Oops read question wrong...) I've never chosen a wrong best answer for math and I did do it again by myself to ensure that the answer was correct. Only someone that knows nothing about what they're doing would pick an incorrect answer as a best answer I think....

not many times, because I ask how they got it as well, and if it clicks and makes sense, I use the answer and remember how it was done. If I don't understand, I take the answer to my teacher and ask if it's right and how to do that question.

Yahoo ! doesn't say that all answers are indeed guaranteed to be right; however, people are only helping as much as they can.

I have had wrong answers though; lots of right ones too =]
