my son, Brandon, died on June 17, 2004, he was 12 years old. No, Christmas hasn't been the same....never will be, nor will any other holiday.

My heart goes out to you. It just isn't right to outlive your children. Please try to go on with your life. Your son wouldn't want you to keep mourning til it ruined the Christmas season. If you have other children then you must put up a good front for them at least. Try to find a support group in your area for parents of children that have passed. It can really help you. Please believe me. There are others feeling your pain and they can share in your pain. I miss my Daddy very much. He's been gone four years and sometimes it feels like it just happened. But, since I'm a Christian i know I will be seeing him again someday and that helps. Honey, if you don't go to church please go. Tell the pastor you feelings and he can help you also. I pray peace for you and many blessings. I will pray for you. God Bless.

Yes, many people have experienced losses that greatly reduce the joy of Christmas. You have experienced a very personal loss. Grief is a process that can override almost everything for a long while. I can neither diminish your grief nor speed up it's progress. I hope your heart can heal.

At my age....no is the answer.
Many have died.....also many have been born.
I've geared my mind to the children, childhood is short, make it a happy memory for them. I have a new great neice this year, what a joy it is, her first Christmas, her first candy cane. Think positive, think of the children in your family, even the extended ones.
