I had forgotten about that.

green beans should not be baked...period. Usually people used the canned beans anyway which is just awful lol
I agree, its a horrible tradition. Much like the whole "lets put beets on the table for thanksgiving."
I dont like beets, they will always taste like dirt, to me.

AMEN!!! We had an older lady who used to bring green bean casserole to every pot luck that our church ever had. We could always count on it being there. Just looking at it makes my stomach roll!!!!

You are NOT alone. I can think of about 100 better things to do with such noble vegetables than sop them with slimy soup and bake the very life out of them.
I think this tradition needs to be replaced.

LOL! NO! When I was younger I hated it! Then got a little older and started to like it again, but my mom made it like 3 nights in a row, and I am right back to hating it again. I don't think I'll eat it ever again!
