I'd have to say 'by example' because truth can be subjective.

Since your question is in the psychology section, I, being a mental health professional with 20+ years experience, now retired, I can tell you that, in my professional opinion, a good leader leads by BOTH example and Truth. It's much like the debate within Christian circles about whether one is a better Christian based on what one believes or what one does. The answer therein is, BOTH. God Bless you.

a good leader leads by EXAMPLE...... it's like practice what you preach.... if others see a person taking the actions then they will follow, and the person become a leader. now, a person can tell the truth about things, but if they aren't following those actions themselves, then they are not leading, but guiding moreso. so yeah, a leader leads by examples...... (if this is what you were asking). =)

In order to recieve the truth you first have to be a fine example of it. A leader knows truth and must recongnize it when it presents itself.

Only example is truth. The rest can be manipulated.
