WHY ON GODS GREEN EARTH WOULD YOU WANT TO DEVALUE A TRUE CLASSIC MOTORCYCLE? TURN A VINTAGE HIGH PERFORMANCE BRITISH ICON INTO WHAT? AN ILL HANDLING BOBBER? TRIDENTS ARE WELDED FRAMES, ALL YOU CAN DO IS RUIN IT. SELL IT TO SOMEONE THAT WILL TREAT IT DECENT AND RUIN SOME JAP BIKE. SERIOUSLY THERE ARE NO MODIFICATIONS THAT WILL IMPROVE THIS BIKE, ONLY MAKE IT RIDE AND HANDLE WORSE. IF YOU WANT ONE OF THOSE STUPID CHOPPER THINGS START WITH A STUPID CHOPPER FRAME. THEN USE A MORE AVAILABLE ENGINE, LIKE A YAMAHA OR HONDA. I PROMISE THAT IF YOU DO THIS YOUR TAKING A 5-8000 BIKE AND TURNING IT INTO A 1500 DOLLAR BIKE, AND THERE IS NO LOOKING BACK, ONCE YOU CUT THAT FRAME YOU HAVE JUNK. PERIOD.

Contact the British Saloon Car Club for contacts with Triumph specific clubs. These are the guys with the sources for hard-to-find parts for British cars.
