You are safe. All "shelf" mayonaise (those you buy at grocery chains) must be pasturized in order to sit on the grocery store shelves for weeks or months at a time. You should NOT eat any mayo that you purchase in the refridgerated section, however, as those will probably contain raw eggs.
Hope this helps!

I have been wondering all this too! Its the raw egg that I thought we had to be weary of. It says egg on the mayonnaise I get but doesnt give any details about it.
I think if it was not pasturized it would say so. Also all shop bought mayonnaise is meant to be pasturized (or so ive heard) only home made mayonnaise isnt.
Sorry i dont think i helped much

Any manufactured, prepackaged mayonnaise or dressing IS pasteurized... if it wasn't, it would be bulging and wouldn't keep on the shelf. Just don't eat homemade...
As someone has mentioned the amount of tuna you should eat... you are allowed 2 cans of chunk light or 1 can of albacore each week (without eating any other seafood during that week).

I don't see why not, but mayo and miracle whip are two different things. I ate mayo all through both of my pregnancies & I've never read that something was harmful in it.

I am not sure about mayo but I do know you are not supposed to eat more than one serving of tuna per week during pregnancy

Don't eat too much tuna, but mayo should be fine. I wouldn't eat Miracle Whip (which is NOT mayo!) any time, but I don't think it'll hurt the baby. It is all chemicals, though.

They key to eating any of these things is temperature control. Do not let them sit out at room temp. That could make anyone sick.
