I just looked outside and I saw a tiny star or planet next to the Moon. I was wondering if it was Mars cause it has kind of an orange tint to it

It's supposed to be really bright so I'll bet that's it!

Here's a link to a Yahoo! article about Mars

Personally I think we should do a bit of both as we need outpost at some point in the mere Future, because when we do finally travel to different plents, Mars being one of them, then we will need a like moon base so that it will take off pressure from ground control at Nasa, and to colonize the moon etc, Mars I think will substain life, as there is Co2 beneath the crust, we just need to release it, so that it can start the teraforming process of that dead planet, we are obviously doing quite a bit of damage to our planet with burning more, and more carbon emissions, and that will heat the lanet up by a couple more degrees's if that happens then we will be totally screwed, as in the movie Waterwold will become a reality, so we need to think about setting up on the moon then Mars at somepoint, they just have to figure out if Warp travel is poss yet, impulse drive is, as all that is ionised gas, so i hope this helps you out, I am a strong beilever that one day we will travel beyond our planet, and colonize other worlds, so that the human race will live on much much distant in to the future, as it is our destiny to prserve life not to go t war with everyone!

Yes. Mars is close to the Earth right now so it appears very bright.

You can tell planets from stars by whether or not they twinkle. Watch it carefully for a few seconds -- stars twinkle because they are burning. Planets glow steadily because they are only reflecting light.

Yes. Mars will officially be at opposition (on the opposite side of the Sun, as viewed from Earth) at 3:00 P.M. tomorrow. Because of this, it will be visible all night long. It won't be this bright again until 2016. Mars was actually closest to Earth on 12/18, when it was 54.8 million miles away.

I'm not sure because I haven't looked, but if you download the free and incredibly cool program called "Stellarium", you can find out. I have it on my other computer and it's b*tchin, trust me. Really neat.
