I mean I can't even listen to the radio anymore because all they play is Fergie, T-Pain, and Crank Dat Souja Boy!
What is music coming to?
I mean Crank Dat Souja Boy was a number 1 song for weeks?
ARE YOU PEOPLE INSANE?

I would consider good music Muse, Matchbox Twenty, The Fray, Collective Soul, OneRepublic, Linkin Park, Paolo Nutini, Sarah McLachlan, Christina Aguilera, Evanescence, Frank Sinatra, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rascal Flatts, Gavin DeGraw, Modest Mouse, 30 Second to Mars, (the early) Nelly Furtado, & Tom Petty

Well, alot of people dont explore music, or try to find things they like, or really like getting into music in general. Almost like they are too lazy or scared to look for something they like the best. So they just turn on the radio to hear the popular stuff, and thats what they get used to, whatever plays on the radio.
Its almost like they folloe the radio to decide what music they should listen to for them. Then, especcially young girls, start to get wrapped up in the fact that this music is "cool" and "popular" with most girls, because they too, only follow the radio. So they talk about it and listen to it naturally, because most young girls, and anyone in that matter, naturally want to fit in.
So the reason WHY they are putting these kinds of songs on the radio??? Well, Im not sure. Ask big label music producers. Music changes through the decades, its like a circle of life kinda thing. WHY is the music on the radio, while may be fun or cool, really cheap and have such little talent or skill??? Who knows.
I hope this helps you some :)

I have go agree, even though I got caught up in Crank dat. I liked it because it was infectious and catchy. In the eighties they said the same thing about Madonna but I loved "Get into the Groove" "Lucky Star". In the seventies I loved shake, shake shake your booty. These were all the catchy songs of their era. If I could think of a catchy tune to make a few bucks real quick then I would.

You should do what I did...invest in a 12 disc cd changer for the car and then you never have to listen to the radio.

I think people listen to the crappy stuff because it's hyped to death and played so much that it wears people down to the point where they decide they like it. Once in a great while there is a song on the radio that doesn't totally suck. It just takes effort to find it.

it's all commercial stuff in the charts.. here's 2 bands that aren't in the charts.. maybe you'll like them.. they are different anyway .i avoid a lot of music stations as they have the same 10-20 songs on rotation

=)

explore outside of the charts =)

try these

4hero (pioneers of drum &bass.. they need to come back =) )

http://www.eskb.co.uk (the video section)

I helped out technically on with one of the eskb videos =)

both UK bands ..

I make music myself and too much music in the charts has 1 vital ingredient missing SOUL.. thankfully not all the chart music is like that , but sadly a lot is

I used to think Nelly Furtado was "ok".. till this >

taken from someone else and not paid for BEFORE release. I know the original from 2000 that was originally composed by someone else.

I agree I get really annoyed with the stupid songs that just say the same few words over again. Like the hey babay hey baybay song. Ugghh it annoys the s*it outta me when it comes on. Music just isn't what it used to be their is no meaning behind any songs anymore just crappy lyrics thrown together. But one mans trash is another mans treasure I guess.

I haven't listened to the radio in years. Music today is awful. I don't understand it at all. I think many people that like that stuff may actually be insane.

crank that soulja boy was way over rated.
but all that stuff i guess is just certain stations.
that's what teenagers mainly listen to these days,
and radio stations what to attract teenagers to listen to there station.

but Sirius, then you can listen to whatever you want.
no soulja boy interruptions.
