so i gave up on trying to purchase a nintendo wii for my 8 year old daughter, and i was not going to spend about 300-400 on ebay plus like 50 dollars of shipping when i can get it for 249.00 anywhere and not have to worry about the shipping, though i think that is a complete rip off but whatever.. so i'm thinking of purchasing it for her after the holiday. do you think it will be easier for me to get one after christmas lets say maybe around the middle of Jan? or when should i wait, i remember when the PS3 came out they both came out around the same time my husband worked at bestbuy around that time and it was crazy but noone really found interest in the wii, now it's the opposite, you can go to best buy and they have all the PS' just sitting there but then again i would not spend 500 or 600 on the ps3 thats just me. i can use that money to pay my car lol.. but anyways what should i do, how long after xmas last year did the ps3 become easier to get?

Well nintendo world gets a shipment every morning of about 200-250 systems so you will have to get there early. there website is nintendoworld.com
You can also try craigslist.com a few ppl i know snagged a wii off of there and its all local so you can meet up with the person. If you see an ad for $315-$330 offer them $300 and they might accept it and dont be afraid to ask questions bcuz its like a "dont ask dont tell kind of thing" if you dont ask and you go to meet up and buy it you may not get exactly want you wanted.
And just as someone said already i dont think it will be any better after christmas because the same way that youre thinking, others are thinking the same. Most people are going to wait until all the drama dies down and then try to get it. Its going to be a hassle to get a wii for a while. GOOD LUCK

Probably less than a month, once all the extreme gamers who really wanted got it. Because most people are just like you, don't want to pay 600 bucks for a game system. But I don't think the Wii is going to get much easier after Christmas, sorry. Because there are a lot of people that also want it and are probably waiting until the demand dies down, too.

Yes it should be easier to get her one. Just call the bestbuy, Toys r us, kb stores, eb games ect... that sell the Wii. They are bound to get at least one shipment or have at least one. Just keep trying when you get off of work. You will find one and that is the best thing to do.
