I am an independent voter. I am not backing for any candidates at this time. According to CNN, "Truth is, he wasn’t very religious,” said Obama. “He met my mother. My mother was a Christian from Kansas, and they married, and then divorced. I was raised by my mother. So I’ve always been a Christian."
He clearly stated that he was raised by his mother and she was a Christian. If it’s true, why did his mother get married to another Muslim after she divorced Obama's father? He spent his childhood in Indonesia with his mother & step father. I want independent voters (Please no Obama, Hillary, Edwards, or Republican voters) to respond please!

Just living with a Christian doesn't make you a Christian. The Christian Bible is also very clear about Christians marrying other Christians. There is scripture which warns a Christian from marrying a non-Christian. If it happens, the Christian should work very hard to convert that unbelieving companion to the Lord.
He did say he has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, so I assume this means that he has accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. If so, it doesn't matter if he had been a Muslim or Atheist or Pagan or whatever all his life. He is now a Christian.

I am guessing she married another Muslim after his father because she was in Indonesia, which is predominantly Muslim. Believe it or not, many people get married to people of other religions. Sounds to me that religion was just not a big deal to his mother.

why is this even an issue. i dont care if he worships the devil as long as he separates his beliefs from his duties (something that bush could not do) who cares what god(s) he worships.
