Like Nick, The N, and Disney's websites. Is it because of the flash or is it my internet connection?

It's because of all the junk they have the pages loaded with.

It's hard to say without more information. The overall system can't go any faster than it's slowest link.
If your computer has too much going on (especially mal-ware and virus infections, but virus scanners and protection software can also slow things down) then it will be the slow link in the chain.
If you're using a dial up modem to access the internet, that's probably the biggest choke point. If you're on broadband, then it could be the local link (cable modem throughput can be shared if you're home network & wireless has other devices, and your neighbors with cable modems may degrade your performance as well).
The cable or phone company occasionally throttles your bandwidth, especially if you're using some of the typical file sharing networks like e-mule and so on.
The web site provider may not be paying for enough bandwidth, so the choke point could be on the other end of the connection. Routers between the web site and your provider can also be a choke point.
If the web site provider is downloading flash apps and lots of data, that can cause an apparently slow connection.

It depends on the bandwidth. If there are a lot of people logged into their site it will take longer to load.

Or if there are a lot of users at your isp it can also slow it down.
