So much depends on what the medication is.
I'm on Cymbalta and I've found that by taking it right before bed I don't have the sleep problems (nightmares, twitching, etc.) that I had when I was taking it first thing in the morning. All I can figure is that even though some of the medicine is released right away, because of the way Cymbalta affects brain chemistry it takes longer for that to really take effect.

Ask your doctor and if they don't think it will be a problem to switch the time you take it, try it and see which time works better for you.

You have to ask your pharmacist. They are the only ones who truly know how your medication works with your body. I can tell you that certain medications if taken at night can cause insomnia and make some symptoms worse. I experienced that myself. I took some medications my doctor gave me. They were samples, so there was no literature to read on them. I took the doctor's advice and they caused insomnia and made some symptoms worse. I asked my pharmacist about it, and he said positively do not take the medication at night. I was so angry at the doctor for dispensing the sample without really understanding the dynamics of the medication.

"CERTAIN METABOLIC BY-PRODUCT" could be as simple as lactic acid or much more complicated. Ask someone who is in the field....even your pharmacist!

Depends on what medication you are on. I take mine at night because it causes drowsiness.

I don't know about the type of medication you are on.

Ask your doctor.
