I have most of the early country records. Everything from Fiddlin' John Carson's 'Little Old Log Cabin In The Lane" to Vernon Dalhart's "Wreck of the Old '97" and "The Prisoners Song". I also have lots of early Western- much of it recorded on field trips by John Lomax.

I'm doing this by memory as my reference material is currently in a storage unit, but Eck Robertson's version of "Sallie Gooden" has generally been considered the first country recording, I think in 1922, but if I recall correctly, it wasn't actually released until a year or so later, after Fiddlin John Carson and maybe one or two others had been released.
