i started YAZ a week ago and today it looked like a period but lighter and was wondering if this is normal when starting a birth control? thanks!

Believe it or not, YAZ does indeed do this. You may get break-thru bleeding during the first three months on YAZ. However, YAZ is supposed to be very beneficial so keep taking it. It is supposed to make your periods lighter and cramping much less severe. Not to mention it is supposed to lessen all other symptoms of PMS. So stick to it! You should be very happy!

Yes this is normal. Yaz has 24 active pills, and only 4 inactive pills. So this will make your periods lighter. But this takes a month or two.
