produced is the cause of this rise in price. Do you think it will always be more expensive than gas, or do you think it will, at some point, go back to being cheaper than gas?

Thank your environmentalist for the cost of diesel. The EPA requires that diesel has to have less than 15ppm in sulfur aka ultra low sulfur diesel. They have to process it more to remove the excess sulfur & they are passing along the cost to the consumer, mostly truck drivers & their companies. I believe diesel will now be more expensive than gas because the oil companies have their cash cow.

If we could get someone to make Bio-Diesel and have them keep up with the demands, diesel would be considerably cheaper. Bio-Diesel is made from breaking down cooking grease from your local McDonald's or KFC. Many people (like me) have made there own or purchased a bio-diesel refinery that fits in the corner of your garage. When I make it, I run some numbers and from buying all the ingredients from my local hardware store to mpg, I come out with a price of 96 cents to a gallon. That's what we need, a Bio-Diesel plant.

If you have a diesel, you may want to consider using used cooking oil as fuel. There are two ways to go: either make your own bio-diesel or convert your vehicle.

There are a ton of sites on the subject. Here is the system I use in 2 vehicles:

Autocham is correct on several things, but propane is not the same as natural gas. Propane is a product of crude oil and is produced when the crude oil is "cracked" to seperate out the different fractions. Propane (Liquified Petroleum Gas) doesn't require as much pressure to become a liquid as natural gas does. Natural gas is sometimes cound in association with crude oil, but not always. It's nothing more than methane, the same thing farts are.

there's a scarcity of "eco-friendly" diesel because of the fact of refinery capacities. eco-friendly diesel has much less sulfur ppm, calls for extra refining, and interior the destiny 2007 passenger automobiles the ppm must be a wonderful decrease style. Europe facilitates farmers to apply the previous diesel which shall we unauthorized automobiles use it, decreasing call for.

i feel diesel is always going to be $$ than gas. look at countries such as India, china, Pakistan... most of the Vachel's you see are running on diesel. i feel instead of focusing on diesel/gas, we should focus more on pro pain (natural gas). it's more cleaner than diesel as well. i know all taxi cabs in India have to be running on CNG/LPG. no gas/diesel.

diesel engines do last longer than gas/propain. something to think about while buying a car.
