I think this is an unfair question - I believe the demographic of Yahoo Answers is the right age to know Rush music but not YES!
Rush are definately more "popular" - they crossover to today's music a lot more than Yes! Especially due to the fact that they're heavier. Bit of purist me. Not enough classical influence or cape-donning keyboard solos.
Let's put it this way... Without Yes there'd be no Rush.
Rush's version of Summertime Blues is great though.
Yes is so much more intricate... clever... accomplished... dynamic.

I'm gonna have to say Yes. I guess it's because I haven't heard a lot of Rush yet, but I love Yes. They're my favorite progressive rock band. Each member is talented (although Bill Bruford ain't Neil Peart) and they're great at arrangements and songwriting.

Their styles are just soo different...I will give it to Rush by a millimeter for having a slightly harder edge
