I was the King of the early birds! I would wake up about midnight. I would peak in the living room, but was scared because my mom said "Not until we are ALL up!"
I could see shadows, and tell my li'l brother, "Santa came! Santa came!"
By about 2:00 AM, we couldn't stand it anymore, and would go to my parents' room, "Mommy... I think Santa came!"
"No, no... we just got to bed. Go back to sleep." she would say. Almost every hour, on the hour, "Mommy, Santa came! Can we go look?"
Finally, at about 4:15 in the morning, my mom would give in. We could turn on the tree lights... "But DON'T touch ANYTHING until we are all there." It was then my job to wake up our little sister.
Dad's job was to pump coffee into my mom and himself. We are all adults now, but those were some GREAT times... and LOOONG days!
Happy holidays, everyone!

As a kid probably around 5:00 AM. My son has always been really good about not getting up too early. The only times we've had to get up really early on Christmas were because of my husband's family. He's in the military and we lived in Europe on and off for 8 years. His family could never be bothered to figure out the time difference so every so often they'd decide to call us on Christmas Eve, their time, which would turn out to be 5:00 or 6:00 AM our time. My sister-in-law also called us around 1:00 AM on Thanksgiving and was surprised that she woke us up. At least if the phone rang in the middle of the night, we always knew who it was!

When I was younger, me and my sister would stay up all night "waiting on santa" but would eventually fall asleep around 3 or so...When we werent waiting on Santa we would open gifts at about 4am! Those were the days.

8p.m. on Christmas Eve...my parents thought I was asleep...stayed up all night munching on Santa's cookies and drinking his milk...still never saw him.
My parents made up a quick story,"Well, Santa becomes invisible, when he knows a certain little girl is waiting for him.'
