Baltimore has around 300
It's a big issue around here.

"According to crime statistics there were 269 homicides in Baltimore in 2005, giving it the highest homicide rate per 100,000 of all U.S. cities of 250,000 or more population. Though this is significantly lower than the record-high 353 homicides in 1993, the homicide rate in Baltimore is nearly seven times the national rate, six times the rate of New York City, and three times the rate of Los Angeles."

Atlanta had 110 in 2006. Of course, that's just the official "city of Atlanta." Metro-wide, we had more than 375 murders in 2006 (with about 5 million residents). Atlanta's murder rate went down, but violent crimes metro-wide were supposedly up. From what I've heard, the influx of Katrina refugees into our area skewed the crime statistics considerably. You'll note from the second link below that New Orleans is currently the murder capital of the U.S.

For our metropolitan area it's over 300 a year in a total population which just went over 2 million. But, it doesn't bother me because the overwhelming percentage of those homicides involve situations where the killer and the victim were on intimate terms.

Base on statistic on violent crimes with violent deaths?
Be surprise how we were moving backwards in time..
With all the cave-men being mass produced and rolled off from the faulty production lines.
With all the cheap-skate glory of "We can" in the creation of a "Bettermen"
Not forgetting those with list of bankruptcies.
With the cheap-skate glory of idol worshiping the dead Mummy of failures and horrors of the past from the graveyards of different ghostly ancestor's culture and custom without being aware of the mess created in own backyards.
How embarassing with all the cheap-skate glory out there.
How to face my brothers and sisters out there?

What do you think?
