My mother always told me that it was bad luck to leave it up past New Years. I think she really just didn't want to leave a tree with no presents up any longer. She always took it down the day after Christmas.

Hi The Pooc, We don't put a X-mas tree up anymore. That was moms thing to do and since she has pass on we just don't have a tree anymore. It's just not the same with mom gone.

we usually put it down after new years day. Something about it being bad luck. We use to burn it on new years eve night as it turns new years day but now we have a fake tree. :(
