Funny story, I have one too, i had to get a female officers gun back that had been taken by drunken teens on carnival, which then progressed to shove her around and pickin her up.
I agree, the point is, for women standards have been lowered on the force, so female police officers are basically a joke, there are VERY few female firefighters, because thank god, the country so far refused to lower the physical tests for women, since they DO have to be able to carry people and equipment.
Female firegighters and police officers, no problem, but please not a watered down b rated version.

SOME women can handle themselves, obviously. This story is anecdote, though, and not the hard date one would get from a study that had a large sample size and distributed its data. On average, women CAN NOT handle themselves against men. That is why our prisons are full of these very men.
Female police officers use persuasion much more often than force. There is a dichotomy between male and female officers in this area.

If a man and a woman have the same skill the the advantage is still to the man because of strength and aggression.
Also in the types of jobs you are referring to the best candidate should get the job not the one who had to have her standards lowered to so she will have a shot at getting equal scores.
Why do women insist on lowered standards if they want equality, respect and to be taken seriously?
Is it because it is easier to demand equal outcomes than it is to work for an equal opportunity?

Well, a lot of men can't handle it either. Look at how many of them overdo it when they're trying to take down out-of-control people. How about the woman who became extremely agitated at the Phoenix airport? In the video I saw, there were at least three men trying to control her. She was the one who later died while in police custody. There was another case where a woman was repeatedly tasered by a police officer. Apparently, she had had too much to drink and was acting up but that didn't justify repeately using a device that shoots 50,000 volts through a person's body. There's nothing wrong with trying to restrain a person but overdoing it is something else entirely.

They (some of them, at least) believe that because fields requiring physical strength believe the same thing. That's why they have lower standards for women.

That story is not only old, but, it's also just pure luck.
Try being a cop, firefighter or fighting in the frontline for a day. Once women find how difficult it is to meet the exact same requirements as Men and how difficult it is to to perform those job; they'll crawl back into the kitchen in seconds.
Face it, the only reason why there are women in those field is mainly because of lower physical requirements for women.
Action speak louder than words ladies.
