I did turbo taxes with the state taxes, but did think about doing the federal taxes together I did it separte. Now we are oweing and going to be penelized for the lateness. What can we do to fix our taxes to get caught up with the 2007 taxes.

The only thing you can do is file the federal return ASAP to stop the interest. If you don't file the federal they will hit you with an assessment that may be based on the state return or how the examiner feels on the day he/she calculates your assessment. So you want to file ASAP. It will need to be a paper return but you could do it on Turbo tax if you have the software.

File the missing 2006 returns! The only way to stop the penalties and interest from climbing is to file and pay.

Each tax year stands on it's own. Get 2006 out of the way ASAP, THEN start working on 2007 after the New Year.
