You wouldn't be able to put the round pizza in a round box because the round pizza can be different sizes every time.

Because square boxes are easier, cheaper and more stackable and the people making the pizza don't have to put them together. Plus, pizzas fit in them. Plus, if you put a round pizza in a round box, how are you going to get it out??

Probably cheaper to make a square box. Plus if it were rounded we couldn't call it a box, have to call it a pizza holder.

the corners of the box help support the top so as to keep it from touching the top of the pizza. that support helps in the carring of the pizza as well.
