I'm not an expert in Jungian psychology, but I believe that Jung thought that when people dream, each person/element/etc in the dream represented some part of the self. So in other words, if you had a dream about your mother, your mother represented some part of yourself and your unconscious.
Also... shadow parts tend to be the less socially acceptable, more aggressive, negative parts of ourselves... parts that hurt others. You might try talking to someone who you are very close to about the parts of you that hurt them or others...
Also, think about people (either famous people or people that you know personally)... that you do not like. Often, the traits that we find most repulsive in others have some connection to us... and may represent a "shadowy" aspect of us... I'm not saying there is a one to one correlation, but it's worth thinking about...
This isn't the whole answer... but it's a start.

This is a voyage that will entail the rest of your life. How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time. The same with the plethora of impulses you receive from the inner side of you at first. Start somewhere. It doesn't matter if you must start now and not tomorrow. If you must start tomarrow try with a little self reflection. From there the sky is the limit and so are the shadows. Have fun.
