Yes. It's hard most of the time to keep direct eye contact with people you've just met or are having serious conversations with, but as you get more familiar with a person, that will decrease. Just know that if this is related to serious meetings or presentations, don't have too much eye contact. Eye contact is good because it keeps you connected to the person, just don't have too much and stare in their eyes all the time; it might unnerve the person you're talking to.

Never. And why should I have? Throwing furtive glances denoted that you are hiding something ,may be a guilty feeling or fear. It is always better to sta re directly into the eyes of the person. Supposing he has mischief in his mind it would be reflected in his eyes and you could be on your guard. Sometimes eyes are more eloquent than words which are conditioned by social inhibitions. Eyes are free from all these and in fa ct, even if one were to condition them to fall in line of the social mores the attempt usually fails and the conflict is clearly reflected in them.

Yeah unless they have some nice eyes! But yeah once I make eye contact I start looking at there nose and forehead and lips and I never stop! Then I dont know what the conversation is about.

I have trouble making eye contact with people who have really big eyes and stare at you when they talk. Its best when each person looks away once in a while. I sometimes look at their hands if they are making gestures.

I used to. Not so much anymore. Normally I do look around, because I have a short attention span, but when I'm speaking with someone I can always hold eye contact. Feels odd tho, having someone stare at you especially if they're creepy.

Im 17 and have the comparable challenge! extraordinarily with instructors and so on. instead of watching their eyes, seem at their nostril, or good between their eyes. I do this and it rather works, yet often I basically rigidity myself to make eye touch.

No.

I used to. Buts it getting better..

All you have to do, is smile and look along. And if you think youve staring too long at the eye look at their mouths.

If you lose eye contact, people often think they re boring you : )

Nope, I make it a point to stare people in the eyes. Especially when I am trying to make a point, let them know I am dead serious.

No, you should always be able to look direct a person in the face unless your being untruthful.
