Some people say that Barry Bonds should not go to jail if found guilty in court.

Keep in mind that Barry Bonds is not going to jail for using steroids, but rather for lying to a grand jury.

If found guilty guilty of lying to a grand jury and obstruction of justice, should Barry Bonds be allowed to escape jail time? What do you think?

When you're guilty of perjury and it's proven there is no excuse. It is federal in this case, and by the way, in 1990 Congress passed the Anabolic Steroids Act which made trafficking and using a federal offense.

Do you really think that the fans who are still sticking up for Barry are interested in justice?

To the poster 3 below me...do you really think Bonds will serve 30 yrs...LOL! Besides, the question is if you think Bonds should escape jail time. Some people have gone to jail for not paying traffic tickets, so are you saying that Bonds should get off for lying to a grand jury?

The "no1nyyfan" has it right, he didn't have to say anything to the grand jury but once he decided to do so he had to tell the truth. The penalty for lying to the grand jury is jail time if he is found to be guilty.

If he serves one minute of jail time it is an injustice!! There are far worse things that people do that should be in jail! Drug dealers and murderers get off from technicalities so Bonds should pay a fine do some community service and smack homers in Oakland! Can you say 800!!!!!!

Just let it play out. We have enoughf to worry about then Bonds going to jail. If he does a few lawyers might go along with him on both sides. Its a no win situation!!!!

no no no hell no

if found guilty he should go to jail, no exceptions.

i also personally believe that his record should be taken away especially the home run record. leave it to the man that did it on his own strength and agility. Bonds certainly does not deserve the title

Yes it is excessive. He may get 30 years but meanwhile we have killers rapist & child molesters getting less time in jail & that's such bull.
