We had to change states so I could go to University. It cost so much to move. By the time we payed for everything we were broke. The Salvation Army gave the kids a bag of toys which we wraped and put under the tree but My husband and I are both getting nothing this year. Hopefully next year, or once Im a Nurse/Midwife and my husband finishes his teaching degree we will be more stable and can give ourselves gifts.

Oh yeah. Every year, I spend a ton of time picking out what I feel are the perfect gifts for my friends and family, knowing that the gifts I receive will be from the dollar store.

My family would rather give 10 $1 gifts instead of 1 $10 gift... because "it's fun to open gifts!"

I need to stop buying them expensive gifts. We already buy gifts for local kids who aren't as fortunate... perhaps I will do more of that next year, since I love picking out gifts for people and I bet the gifts are more needed and better appreciated. I think everyone should do it - it feels good!!

The things I want for Christmas you can not buy in a store and they are up to the person who I wished this for.

My mom to regain her physical strength

My brother to get back his mental faculties

Myself to get direction and be strong of purpose

So presents mean nothing to me if what I said above doesnt happen

Getting nothing for Christmas is not important instead be good to yourself and those around you and try to keep that feeling all year around

In terms of material things yes I am getting nothing for Christmas and to be honest I do not care

I don't have money for any presents so my parents and daughter want nothing to do with me. I will be alone on christmas. The only person who got me something was a guy I have been dating that I met online.

Somehow that seems to be the rule. I really have to much clutter, and end up with being given, money to spend on what I want or need, that does not have to be done on Christmas Day.

Well, I'm getting two or three more expensive things than an abundance of items. But really what I look forward to on x-mas is dinner ;b

why is everyone bummed for not getting an x-mas present, or the stuff they wanted this year??

greedy greedy... isn't this the season to give anyway?? when i give a present to anyone on ANY day of the year, i give it to them not expecting anything back... it was just a kind gesture on my part...

is everyone really so upset about what they DIDN'T get?? what about the blessings you DO have every single day?? that isn't enough?

yup. i paid over $200 for my boyfriend's gifts only to find out he is too brok to buy me a present this year.

last year he got me a personalized iPod with an engraving with a quote about music on the back, plus it had all these playlists on it.

so i bought him a Nautica watch and a really fancy, expensive bathrobe.
