Just a sign of ignorance, mainly. Inexcusable amongst grown men. Even in football.

90% true. The 10% that is false for are very VERY scary people in their sports. For example: Floyd Mayweather in boxing. He talks the talk, but he 100% walks the walk.

So 90% can't back up what they say and are trying to boost themselves up because they have some form of low self-esteem. But there is 10% that do back up everything they say...

Personally, I think any form of trash talking is pretty poor. If you are that good and are truly centered with who you are...you don't need to trash talk and/or show someone up after you score on them or whatever.

There's a big difference between being confident and being an @ss.

Real men don't need to talk tough. But I think it's more a sign of insecurity than of ignorance. Inexcusable anywhere.

False. Smart Men talk tough on the field too get in the heads of the other player. This also effects their ego greatly making them do stupid things.

Real Men can talk tough since real men back it up.

Weak fake dudes talk tough and then run off when confronted.

That's largely true. But on the field, there is an element of gamesmanship to talking tough and trying to put your opponent out of his head. Dick Butkus used to talk extremely tough, and he backed it up every time. But in real life--at the club or on the street, it's mostly just punks who talk tough.

To a degree, I think that is true. Real men who know that they are strong don't go around trying desperately to prove it to the world.

They don't have to. Their actions speak for themselves.
