I live in franklin IN. I appriciate your guys help. I have never been in this situation before. Thanx and props to you for not judging me. This was really hard for me, I have worked hard for what I have. I worked in a warehouse, and when my husband left I tried to go back to work and after to hours they made me go home because their insurance company called my doctor and found out he hadnt released me.

Please dont be sorry, god doesnt give us anything we cant handle. Something will come through I just have to find it. Thank you for your time and concern! Oh yea i tried salvation army and they are out of funds. The food banks are still running low because a few months ago someone broke into the main storage and stole all the copper wiring out of the refridgerators so all the food went bad. Yeah I know thats horrible!

where are you at, maybe if you tell me where you are I can recommend you a couple of agencies. Foundations don't give money to individuals. By the way how did you run out of food stamps, I don't get it.

Foundations do not help individuals. Contact local social service agencies, the salvation army, the lions, toys for tots, local churches.

Goto the library and look in your local paper - they often list places helping people at Christmas.

ETA: Christmas is actually the best time to be in trouble as lots of place help now that only help once a year. So get on the phone tomorrow. There should be lots of places with free holiday meals tomorrow and Tuesday.

Rick - I venture to guess that most people run out of food stamps before the end of the month. It is not unusual at all.

I think you should contact some sort of Welfare Rights place for advice and help. Getting these Benefits can take a long tome and then you often have to appeal and end up going to a Tribunal hearing. In the meantime you need to know all there is to know about fighting for your rights. The Welfare Rights people will also know if there are any foundations like your asking about.

I really hope that you find help. I know what it's like to run out of food stamps, no matter what time of year. You can always call your local food pantry, let them know it's an emergency, they may be able to help you out.

As for gifts and such, I know that churches help with that, too. Just keep asking around. I hope you have a Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year.

Try to get ahold of the nearest outpost of the Salvation Army, or call or e mail a local tv station
