They would have probably beat the Spurs last season if not the suspensions.

Play defense.
The suns look to win a game by out-scoring the other team, not by playing enough defense and trying to out-score them that way.

The Suns is highly an offensive team and is having problems in defence against bigger teams like Spurs, Pistons , Miami , or Celtics. The Suns must augment their Center and PF position for defensive purposes.. Amare alone wont help and Diaw is not as big for defensive purposes. The other back center Skinner and Marks has a down side in offense......

They basically need to play hard defense... b/c if they play good d, they will be able to do their specialty, which is to run
when the Suns get on a break, they are almost unstoppable, they are the best fastbreak team in the league.
the only reason they lost last year were b/c of the suspensions vs the Spurs

The key is staying healthy. They need their guys to play as many games as they can. I think they played pretty good defense the other night against Dallas despite losing the game. I think that another key is the bench. They gotta have good production from Barbosa, Skinner, and Diaw/ Hill( whichever starts). I also would trade away Marcus Banks away to get another post guy who can come in with Skinner to establish a better post game.

play defense
while Nash can personally lead his team to score 150 points on a given night, they can't stop their opponents from scoring 160 and beat them
it can't always be a rat race that who gets to the finish line first wins. they also have to do something for the other guy not to make it to the finish line.
Suns need defense
