No; although there is a fostered animosity for treating these people distinctively from others, one would have to prove that it puts everyone of that particular sect at a disposition to "lash out". Not all Christians think that way, Not all Muslims tolerate terrorism, but we don't censor them. It's their religious group, their philosophy, and so long as there's a separation between church and state, they can't be touched. Al Sharpton, let's admit it, says some pretty intolerant things himself, but he gets away with it. The fact that you could even contemplate the possibility of such a thing ever occuring is somewhat disturbing, but again, thus to answer your question, we can't legally, and we won't illegally.
On a side note, one of the very foundations upon which our fine country was built upon, was religious freedom. That very trait was intended to come along with a tiny thing called religeous tolerance. we'd all do well to abide by both of those.

No. The moment you start advocating the censoring of a group of people, you become just as bad as the people you want to censor. We have something called freedom of speech in this country, and it is essential if you want to make sure our country remains free. Say we ban the religious speech, because some view it hateful. You have just given the government license to ban any ideas or speech it deems hateful. Next it might be the people who are protesting a government which they feel has become corrupt. What keeps the government from banning speech which is critical of them? Would you like not being able to protest something that the government has done wrong? Trust me, censorship is a slippery slope, that you don't want to start down. How about not listening the next time you find yourself offended or annoyed. Wouldn't that be much easier?

You have a very good point, but we should all have freedom of speech.
If some one commits a crime, that's a different story.
Hate crimes are very serious. I think it is sad that people start teaching children hate at such a young age.
We should keep freedom of speech and religion but at the same time children under the age of 18 who are subject to a hate group should be taken and put in a stable environment.
Subjecting children to this sort of hate environment before they are able to comprehend what is going on in the world is like abuse.
When supposedly Christians are out picketing an abortion clinic with a child they should automatically take the child away and commit the parents for subjecting the children to such an event.
We should all have the freedom to have our views and beliefs but hate is not a view or belief.
Any group who takes action on hate should be banned.
I don't care if they do try to hide under the religion umbrella and many of them do.
Much has been studied and doctors have found that most gays are born that way and the brain works more like the opposite sex. There is a scientific reason and they can not help what they are.
In the end, people who are active in hate groups of any kind should be under the care of a mental health facility.
These people truly need help if they have so much hate.

First of all the religion has gut nothing to do whit it. and secondly all three humanistic religions have tendency to preaching hatred, you forget that the preachers in all religions are human being and tend to love the power , and for some funny reason they think they can exist only if the preach hatred, and not love ,
and even in defining of love they preach heat, they never think that all creachers are creations of the one and same God and in case of this three religion they believe in one and the same god , but in funny way they think he loves them more than the others .
we should all go and become Buddhists

How about groups that preach intolerance for Christians?
Fortunately, in this country we allow all groups (theoretically), regardless of ideology, to exist. You may hate the Illinois Nazis, but that doesn't mean they can't exist. (Blues Brothers reference.) Same goes for Communists, Christians, Blacks, the Handicapped, etc. Get over it.

history shows that by outlawing and/or banning an ideology we only make it more legitimate and more powerful. we should have done the same with Al Qaeda! we need to confront them with logic! peace

I would disagree with your take on Christians disagreeing with abortionist and gays as hating them. Hate is one step before killing and that is where Islam is. Baning hate will never happen. Banning Islam would remedy many violent acts.

No... typical lib thought tho... shut up any dissenting views about anything that doesn't suit you... in addition make up the evil that you want to shut down... lots easier to knock down straw men than real ones. Personal destruction, slander, and character assasnation are your tools... and letting facts and truth get in the way is not an option... sad... truly sad....

ever heard of the first amendment? freedom of speech? if we start banning things people don't like we'll eventually have to ban everything, since someone somewhere always finds something objectionable and offensive about everything.
so unless you want the things you value banned too, I suggest you learn to tolerate the things you don't like and don't understand. it works two ways pal, two.
