ATI has the market cornered on AGP right now. The best buy is going to be a Radeon 1950Pro AGP. That is the best AGP card available. You can find it for about $175. If that is too pricey, check our the Radeon HD 2600 XT. It has the added advantage of DirectX 10 support and costs around $115.

AGP nVidia cards can't compete at these prices. They are not priced well compared to the higher performing ATI cards. If you plan on upgrading to a new motherboard with PCI-E, then nVidia has some great offerings.

The 7600GS suggested above was a good card 2 years ago. But it doesn't compete today, especially if you are playing newer games.

Top performer is actually ATI X1950 XT AGP then the Pro version that is quite comparable with the Geforce 7950GT AGP. Next would be the 7900GS AGP then 7600GT AGP.

If you want a DX10 card, the best you can get would be ATI HD2600 XT AGP.
