12 inch pounds equals one foot pound just like in inches and feet. Divide by twelve. However that comes to 8.8 foot pounds and you'll never find a foot pound torque wrench to read that low. That's why they make inch pound torque wrenches.

The reason your project is calculated in inch lbs. the torque wrench (inch pound) will yield a more precise torque adjustment. Otherwise, your going to need the very lowest rating foot lb. wrench possible for you to accurately read 8.8 foot pounds. I hate to tell you this but I've never seen a foot lb. torque wench of any kind read anything less than 10 foot lbs.

Right on the money, actually! The latest rule of thumb is 5' weighs 100 lbs; add 5 lbs per additional inch. *I* say +/- 5 lbs either way doesn't matter. Now, if this weight is around your middle, then you need to get more active.
