well actually aracrnaphobia (fear of spiders) is a good thing because it keeps us away from potentially harmful spiders (not in uk).

Depends. Genetically, it's a good thing. Better to stay away from a genetic dead end. Behaviorally, it's a bad thing. Why be afraid?

Good or bad? Jury is out. It becomes important and unacceptable where homophobia becomes personal .... and directed at persons in a manner that affects those persons' rights and freedoms.

People should be allowed to be who they are and want to be. Every person should and must feel that like every other citizen, he / she can be free to exercise the rights he / she has as long as these do not infringe on the rights of others.

Bad.

Some people are gay.

So?!?

You don't want 'em, tell them, "no thanks" and move on.

I mean, sex is a big thing, but it's not the ONLY thing. Even if it were wrong (and it isn't), why focus so much on only one part of a person's life? I mean, think about it--I don't really want to think about my parents having sex (ugh) even though I'm pretty sure they did (and do) it on a regular basis.

My life depended on it, in fact.

But aside from general comments (NO SPECIFICS when it comes to parent sex! Ewwwww!) about sexuality or attraction or topics like that, we don't talk about sex.

I love them, I accept that they have a sexual side, and...can we just not talk about it? Please? It's my PARENTS.

If you have a particular problem with consensual, non-violent, non-harmful sexual practices, just talk about something else.

I mean, I'd be icked out if I walked in on my parents having sex, but it doesn't consume my thoughts.

In fact, I hadn't really thought about them having sex for quite some time until I started writing this.

Thanks a lot.

But I'm not SCARED of it. Homophobes need to find a much better use of their time than trying to condemn something that isn't even wrong.

Homophobia is bad.

Homophobia is a bad thing because you'd have to always stay with friends and they'd eventually get sick of having you around and then you'd have no friends left. You should seek help, no one should fear their home.

It isn't as bad as any other phobia. But as homosexuality is turning to become more popular, try adjusting with such people. Probably get to know it biologically. Then you mightn't have the fear.

Remember "1984" by George Orwell? The superstate had 3 slogans, War Is Peace, Freedom Is Slavery, and the most important of all, IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH. It fits.
