A plastic tarp. Get one at a hardware store or at Walmart. they cost $5 - $10. Hold it in place with some bungee cords. A plastic bottle of those are $2.99 at Walmart.

any of the old cheap plastic tarps will work well for that ,they last a long time and cost very little ,you can get those for about 3-4 bucks and a small one would be large enough to cover the part you need protected, that's what i would use on it,and the tarp will still be good even when you don't need it any more, good luck with it.

use the tarp everyone wrote about--just make sure to strap it down good to stop it from moving in wind it can rub the paint cause scratches--you could heavy plastic sheet just harder to attache to car to secure it have to weight it down to the ground
