Well, kids at my school had tried to tell me that Santa wasn't real, but I didn't believe them. I mean who else would have left all those presents for me? Then I went to my parents and told them that I knew Santa wasn't real. They told me that they had been putting the presents under the tree for all those years. I was in third grade when I found out. After my parents told me, I bawled my eyes out. I was very disappointed. Now, I understand how one man can't fly from house to house giving out gifts, but I'm hoping to make the night special for my daughter. It's her first Christmas!!

I never got told that santa wasn't real. I even have an older brother that would have CRUSHED my life by telling me santa wasn't real. I had to find out all on my own by seeing my mom putting presents under the tree one night and I was so confused because how could she have made all of the stuff that I got. Plus she didn't look a thing like santa, but he always ate all the awesome cookies that I left out.

Greetings! As Bah Humbug as I am, I never completely gave up the concept of Santa. Yes, I know who give gifts and yes, it is next to impossible to slide down chimneys and slip into houses throughout the world in one night, flying a sleigh with nine reindeer, yes, yes, yes.
Something, somewhere got this ball rolling. Santa, Saint Nicholas...SOMEBODY, somewhere started the tradition we enjoy today. What that something is, no one will truly know.
That is what I call Holiday spirit. Okay, 999 out of 1000 people call it CHRISTMAS spirit, but it is a spirit, none the less.
Hope this helps. Happy Holidays!

I figured out that Santa wasn't real in 3rd grade. First, in second grade, I got a hint when all of my presents were wrapped in the same wrapping present whether they were from Santa or my parents. The next year, I went to get something out of my mom's closet and found tons of presents that said to erin from santa. I was completely disappointed. For one thing, there really was no magical fat man that could give me anything in the world that I wanted. Then when I got to thinking more about it I realized that this means that I would get less presents from my parents if they knew I knew. So I didn't tell them I knew until 5th grade. It was starting to get ridiculous. :-)

I was young, not sure what age, and my mom forgot to check to make sure we were sleeping; well I got out of bed and saw her stuffing the stockings. Surprisingly it didn't bother me as much as I thought it should. I think every kid at some age starts to suspect something and when they find out the realization doesn't hit them that hard. I just went back to bed, excited that I was getting presents, not really caring who they came from. I remember pretending I still believed in Santa years after because I knew I would get more. ^.~ Now, I have to do the Santa thing with my girls and I will be more careful than my mom was. ha ha

I was so upset. I remember the day and age I was. me and my twin sister cried. Since then Christmas has never been the same for me, although I still love the Holiday. Now I realize the REAL importance of this Special Day and I know someday when I have children, I can go back to "believing: in SAnta...

It ruined the Christmas spirit for me that year. I felt betrayed, like my parent's had been lying. I got sad, thinking that there wasn't really a person kind enough to give the children of the world gifts. I've since learned to believe in the idea and spirit Santa was made in, not the person.

Well my mom started talking about Santa, and my Grandad was there and he said "Haven't you told Elly about him yet?" And then it all went on from there. I didn't really feel anything, I kinda knew it was my mom up til about there, cause as you know kids in school say things about santa :P I must of been 6 or 7. The majority of kids have a rough idea he's not real anyway by then. :) My best friend told me a little earlier, I didn't really know whether to believe her and when my mom told me I believed it :P My mom then said my best mate ruins everything LOL.

I hate to bust your bubble ... but Santa is as real as you choose to believe! If you choose not to believe in him anymore, so be it. However, in order to keep the spirit alive (and contrary to current popular opinion of the masses) my family and I choose to continue to believe in him & feel we are all the better for it. May the spirit of the season make you brighter, healthier & a better person than ever -- Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays and Happy New Year too! Now it's nearly time for Ho Ho Ho, so I really have to go go go!!!
Oh, and I've included a hyperlink below to the NORAD Tracks Santa website so you can watch my journery ... er, I mean, Santa's worldwide trek on Christmas Eve!
God bless you & yours this season and all through the coming new year!

I'm 40 something and I still believe in Santa! He's brought me the gift of hope, and that's all this old girl needs. I , for one BELIEVE. If you don't, then you are either too jaded, or too freakin bad for Santa to come to your house. I've been a good girl, and I know Santa is comming to see me. How about you?
