In totality I would say you got a pretty good setup here. Kaspersky is one of the best antivirus programs on the market, the only real qualm people have with it is its resource usage, but if your system can support it without major slowdown great. The only problem I would say you have (if you consider it as such) is the use of Spybot. Spybot made a name for itself by being able to clean all sorts of baddies from users pcs at no charge. However, the program is nowhere near the effectiveness as it once was and honestly it is more or less a mediocre antispyware program. There are plenty other freebies that will work much better than spybot and adaware for that matter. If you are partial to spybot keep it, just install a secondary scanner such as Spyware Doctor Starter Edition, A2 Squared Free or SuperAntispyware Free Edition. All of these are completely free, offer better protection than Spybot, updated frequently, and available @ www.download.com. Give them a try you will be amazed at the stuff Spybot misses. Oh yeah, Spyblaster is more hype than useful, try BoClean by Comodo it works in the background and has save me from myself on several occassions. Hope this helps.

Good Luck and Happy Holidays!

NO.

Until you go to Windows Update and obtain all Windows security and critical updates, your computer will still be at risk. Almost all malware targets known vulnerabilities in Windows and to a lesser extent other softwares.

NO anti-virus (even your KAV, which is excellent) can ever be relied upon to give 100% protection. None of them do. Most only detect about 85 to 95% of all KNOWN viruses. When a brand new virus is released , NO signature-based anti-virus will detect it for several hours up to several days. And over 1200 new variants of viruses and other malware are created by the "black-hats" each and every day.

I woulsd also use the Secunia Software Inspector, which scans a computer for un-secure, un-updated and un-patched apps that may be installed on your computer. Use once a month in addition to your other protections.

The Secunia Software Inspector checks for possibly vulnerable programs like Adobe, Winamp, Java etc. and notifies if critical security updates are needed. Takes about 30 seconds and the results might suprise you!

Will work using IE, Opera or Firefox.

Pretty cool and free at:

Good luck.

You can scan for rootkits with AVG Anti-Rootkit Free and for Trojans with TrojanHunter (anti-virus also do this but they are not reliable with anything other than viruses). You should get your own firewall like Comodo (free) and at the end you should make a backup of your computer with Acronis True Image 11.
Note: Try to use Diskeeper 2008 for defragmenting

They all sound great to me. (I don't use any one of the security software that you mentioned). We all have our personal choices.
