Hi I have this problem, suddenly both my laptop cannot conect to internet with wireless conection.. i don't know why and yes both switch for the wireless connection are on.

And with my laptops i can see other people conection but not mine.

But my two desktop can connect to my internet because they are connected with wired to the linksys.

can it be some sort of virus?

If you guys can help me and ask me question to find what and do what, please be my guess!

Sorry i have a bad english and I am a debutant to the world of computer.

No it is not a virus. It sounds like the wireless side of your router/modem is playing up. Are the aerials ok? Switch off for a couple of minutes and try again.

Since you have connection with the desktop that is connected to the linksys. it means that the wireless box is working. try to find out the name of the link sys connection. there is a chance that your connection is there but it has a similar name with the other connections your seeing. try going into the link sys to find the name. use the ip address (192.168.1.1) type this is and find out the name if you want you can change it to a different name.

Sounds like you need to reset the router to re-establish the wireless connection. You may have just lost your encryption key and ssid and need to setup wireless connection again. Other comps will not be affected as they are connected wired and do not use the encryption keys or ssid to access the internet.

I had the same problem that you have,I had to call comcast and they talked me through some corrections I had to make in the connection settings,try calling your internet provider they should be able to help you fix the problem
