this question is really a repeat of someone else's awhile back...but as I sit in my sunroom and watch the activity outside it made me think of it, once again. Pine trees waving in the breeze' squirrels running and looking for food; folk walking their dogs; nests in trees now abandoned for the winter.

We've had rain off and on all day also! It's dark now and all I can see is headlights on the road up the way.

There is a faint light still on the western horizon, new 8 inches of snow conceal the small bushes and the evergreens are bent with it's weight, Our clearing the driveway and walks have large mounds of a soft white without particular shape. The wind has the clouds racing in a darkening sky, and the crust of snow is like sand in a vast field of moving white grains. The drifts are starting their slow advance towards the back sun room. It's now the giant storm window on the west side of the house in 12 degree cold unrelenting wind. It's dark now and the brilliant white looks like pillows on a crisp white sheet were the winds have worked their magic in random drifts. its time to close the curtains and turn on the lights again. They are like tiny spots of color against the back drop of the fridged unforgiving snow.

It's dark here too now, so all I can really see is the neighbour's Christmas lights display...multicoloured along the eaves of the house ALL around the house, and bright blue across the top of the fence line that encloses his back yard.

Earlier, there was a really fantastic light display once the sun got down low enough to peak out from below the overcast (which was very thick and kept the day very grey). First the light had a sand-toned colour to it, and washed everything else in that light. Then it turned to apricot, which darkened into a blush peach. Which turned into lavender and then into a mid-blue than darkened into a steel blue/grey. I was quite mesmerized by it for the almost half hour that it took to go through all it's changes.

But I can hear that the wind is really picking up now. As Lizzy-tish said on another question, we are going to be lucky not to lose power I think.

We live on the 9th floor of a Condo. We have a magnificent view as we are facing north. Right now it is clear but very windy~~rattling the windows. You can see the lights from the prison and all the other places. Some people in the Seniors across the tracks from us have beautiful decorations and trees. Too bad it's dark as I love to watch the children sliding down the hill. In the spring we see the new growth, fall we see the changing leaves, winter the snow and Christmas lights. Summer is best of all with the birds singing and flying to and fro. As much as I want to live near our children and grandchildren, we have such an awesome view.

Merry Christmas Yahoo family and friends. You are amazing and special.

I see a bare redbud tree with snow on the branches, icicles are hanging from the roof (almost 2 feet long) and the sky is grey. There is also a huge maple tree with snow on it's branches too. Once in a while I see a few brave birds landing on the branches. I really need to get a bird feeder to put on that redbud tree. The temp is in the 20's and not many people are out.

I'm in west Tennessee and it's 5:00 pm. As I look out the window I see my front yard with three huge bare oak trees
along the side of the road. Across the street is my carpenter neighbor's little brick house. It faces my house about It has icicle lights hanging across the porch and a Multi-colored Christmas tree in the window. It's twilight, still and quiet on this little road. I'm grateful to be where I am..
Blessings- Ju

The snow is still trying to hang on falling lightly now. I am looking out my home office window at an large mulberry tree that has lost its leaves for the season but it is alive with Blue Jays, Cardinals and Snow birds..a few Nuthatches on the suet we left out for them also. Small Kitty prints under the tree which is distressing for me. The dog is outside making his morning rounds and full of snow from rolling in it..it must feel good as he does it a lot. Looking down I see my coffee cup is empty...gotta go fill er up..Have a wonderful Christmas.

Certainly not the snow I would love to be looking at. Yes I'm aware that a lot of you are having too much of it right now. We are having rain, the ground is saturated so the yards look like swmming pools and you honestly can't tell where the roads are. Because of this, all my squirels, birds, and chip monks are holed up some where. I can see a lot of ruined decorations that last nights winds tore up. Pretty depressing really.

It is 5:05 pm and just getting dusk, I see apple and persimmon trees with out leaves, winter tomatoes are producing red and yellow fruit, and across the fence in the park I can see maple trees with orange, red and gold leaves, redwood trees, oleander bushes marching down the fence line and a squirrel or 2 heading home with a nut in their mouth after a hard day Christmas shopping..

Ok BUT I Will tell you what I saw outside my car window on the way home from Xmas shopping.
I looked up and saw the moon. With faint streaks of golden clouds painted across it, blowing softly away.
The wind is very strong today. Snow was blowing wildly around the expressway and looked so friggin sweet.
It was one of those moments where you just realize how small you are in the universe.

I am looking out the window from my dining room that looks out on our enclosed porch which is full of plants. Past the plants are candles in the porch windows and outside it is snowing pretty hard. Under the porch windows you can see my deer that moves it's head down to eat and back up again. Behind the deer is a lighted outline of a manger with Jesus, Joseph and Mary. It is wood painted white and is beautiful lit up at night. Around the manger are three metal trees coated in a white glittery paint with lights. Then we have a candle in every window !!!! With the snow and decorations it is looking a lot like Christmas and is really giving me the spirit of Christmas !!!!!! *** Merry Christmas *** and (((((( Hugs to all ))))))) !!!!!!!!
