If I apply a store-bought systemic insecticide on vegetable plants, after how many years will it be safe to eat the vegetables?

Would the chemicals still be present in a harmful amount after three years?

Thanks,

It all depends on the active ingredient. If it was Imidichloprid it will last one season but you should not use this on fruits, veggies, or nuts. Most other products usually last around 30 days. All the info should be on the label. You usually shouldn't treat plants within 30 days of harvest and some chemicals have a maximum amount per season that can be safely applied. Please read the labels for your safety. None of the stuff out there will kill you unless you consume massive quantities, but smaller amounts can possibly make you sick.

You should not use neonicotinoids at all. They are known to have serious effects on bee populations. No bees, no food.
