i have vista home basic and i can't see certain things because it's telling me i either have an old version of flashplayer or javascript is turned off, iv'e tried downloading a new version of flash but it's coming up error. i've also tried restoring it but still no joy! any one with any ideas please, i'm fed up with this vista!

i tried flashplayer 9 and i also have mozilla firefox

Try this. Download Adobe Flash Player and save it to your computer. Internet Explorer will ask if you want to RUN or Save the file, choose Save - save it to your desktop. Next, go the Start Menu > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs...> scroll down and select Adobe Flash Player > click [Remove] > Reboot. Next, double click the file you saved on to your desktop. This will install the new version on to your computer. This is called a clean install which usually solves the problem.

The latest version of Adobe Flash Player can be downloaded at http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/

If you want to be on the safe side, create a system restore point before making any changes to your computer.

when I lost my flashplayer and couldn't play videos on youtube I just switched to firefox and I've been loving it ever since. It's free too. www.firefox.com
