I have a fresh laptop (it doesnt have a cd/dvd rom)Is it possible to install Windows XP from a USB flash stick?

Not that I know of. There are ways to install a compact version of Windows XP on to an USB flash drive, which allows you to boot a computer from the flash drive. As an alternative, why don't you borrow or buy an external CD/DVD drive and connect it to your computer via a USB port. Afterwards, insert the Windows CD in to the external drive and it start the installation process.

Only if the motherboard recognizes the USB drivers on boot up and you manage to find a flash drive big enough to hold the Windows program
